Hello, my name is Brian Starley aka "Bergatron". I'm a freelance audio engineer and professional listener based out of Los Angeles, California.
Since moving to Los Angeles from Salt Lake City in 2005, I've been slowly building this dream. It took me until 2013 to make audio engineering my full-time job, and in 2026, I finally built the studio I'd always imagined working in—a space built specifically for creativity and collaboration.
Let’s skip the traditional, inflated third-person bio. If you are here, we already share the same obsession: music and the art of recording.
Music is magic. Every single sound is a unique transmission, shaped entirely by the vessels through which it flows into the physical world. Recording is the closest we can come to capturing and reproducing this magic. Even the sounds that are seemingly repeatable are actually never identical. It blows my mind that an artist who has long been deceased can still transmit through the airwaves and into our ears and hearts. Like I said: magic.
Music not only connects us with the past, present, and future, but also with each other. Whether or not you want to explore that connection is entirely up to you. Maybe that’s why you are here?
As technology advances, the magic of music becomes more and more elusive, driving me to raise my antennae even further above the noise. My ears are up. I am open to the transmissions, and I'd love to connect with you and your music.
